3 KEYS TO AN AWESOME SENIOR PORTRAIT SESSION
3 KEYS TO AN AWESOME SENIOR PORTRAIT SESSION
Guess what! Your big day is almost here!! Before I say anything I have to give you a huge CONGRADULATIONS! Wheather you are a high school senior going t college, or you are a college senior headed to corporate America (or you are a parent wanting you sweet baby to stop growing up so fast), either way, you are one step closer to reaching success!
Now we still have a little time between now and graduation, and I understand there are so many things to worry about. Senior prom, finals, projects, etc. Unfortunatley, I cant help you with your homework, but I can give you the MOST IMPORTANT keys when it comes to booking your senior portraits. Reading this guide should help you understand the most important keys to look for when booking a senior portrait photographer.
KEY #1: LET YOUR PERSONALITY DETERMINE THE THEME
To many times I've seen students unhappy with their graduation portraits because they just didn't reflect who the student was. Remember, these graduation portraits are meant to memorialize key moments of your life. You have to allow it to reflect who YOU are! Make sure your photographer asks questions regarding your interests and personality. Are you an athlete? Were you in the school band? Does everyone call you a fashionista? Wear you best dressed or captain of the math-o-haulics (I hope that isn't a real team name)? What ever you do, make sure your photographer captures portraits that reflect your personality
KEY #2: CHECK THEIR WORK
Now we all have made the mistake in math of having the right answer, but was not able to "SHOW YOUR WORK". Im sure you didn't get an credit for your answer, even if it was right. Same with a senior portrait photographer. If they do not "SHOW THEIR WORK", than you can write them off. The only way to truly trust a photographer's ability to carry out your vision is to see what type of images they are able to produce. What does the quality look like? Are they bright and happy? Or dark and moody? Does their images tell a story? All of these questions should be answered by a simple review of their gallery. Make sure they can meet your needs!!
KEY #3: MAKE YOUR MEMORIES LAST FOREVER
Keep in mind how you or your parents would like to display your graduation portraits. If the photographer only has a digital package, RUNNNN!!!! Digital images are great for instant likes on social media, but they will only get lost deep in your phones photo gallery, never to be seen again. A good senior portrait photographer has options that allow your precious memories to last FOREVER! Weather its a high-quality photo album, a large canvas print of your favorite image, or even sometime as simple as a magnet to place on the refrigerator, make sure the photographer has FOREVER in mind! A professional will have options for you!
THATS IT!!!
